The below Q&A is between Kohl Harrington and Stan Heunis of Happy Days Goat Dairy.
Do you remember how you first heard or came across raw goats milk?
It was well known for most farmers that raw goat milk was an excellent source of nutrients for young animals on the farm. Whether it be for puppies or kittens. It was soon released that feeding this to mature pets was very beneficial also!
Is your product pasteurized or unpasteurized?
Do you get a lot of customers who think the idea of raw goats milk is just...odd?
We find that most of the customers who are interested in this product is well aware of the health benefits and are eager to feed it to their furry loved ones. It seems like the community as a whole is well educated on the raw pet food movement!
Have you had any experiences with customers (pets) with specific ailments where raw goats milk has helped them?
Yes, we have had a few customers with pets who have had struggling health conditions. The raw pet milk has helped in their recovery, it really is a super food.
Do you get any people trying to tell you that feeding another animal's milk is "wrong"? If so, how do you respond to that?
We have not come across that in the past but if we did we would simply tell them that you are only doing your pet a favour by feeding them this nutrient rich raw milk. Why not give your pet the best they can have to prolong their lives.
Talk to me about "sourcing" of the product. (which...you guys are the source) What is important to you in regards to how raw goats milk is raised, sourced, etc?
Our goats are hormone and antibiotic free. They have access to the outside and grazing fresh grass. They have the choice to go indoors to eat fresh hay! Our goats truly are happy and humanely treated.
