Every day, more and more pet owners come across "Pet Fooled" on Netflix. It's available in 82 countries and in many languages. When my friend and the Producer of this film came to me with this topic, I rolled my eyes. It sounded cliche and ridiculous. What in the world could ever be wrong with pet food?
Well, a hell of a lot. And I continue to be shocked at what's going on. It's pet food at the end of the day. It's not that complicated.
Yet an industry grows and thrives by playing off YOUR heart strings. An industry THRIVES off selling corn and wheat as main ingredients and then they turn around and start selling products without corn and wheat! (ASK YOURSELF WHY?!) The pet owner mixed with the consumer. You're the person that wants to buy convenience off the shelf and an industry has grown immensely from your love to want to provide for your dog or cat.
I'm a by stander in all of this. I didn't get into this because I have a dog or a cat that had issues. My Producer Michael Fossat did and he was along for the ride for the film and I'm left standing after the release of the film.
I'm continuing my journey with the "Pet Fooled Talk To Us Campaign" and "Pet Fooled Pt 2" and the "Only Fans" behind the scenes platform (among a few other secret projects that I'll surprise you with later down the road). Why? Well, the pet food industry is out of control from everything I research and I'm VERY passionate about the consumer's right to know fully about what's going into their products.
If things like the Only Fans platform are entertaining or helpful to you, AMAZING. I'm keeping the conversation going on that platform. I'm talking to a lot of veterinarians about what's going on in the industry. I'm sharing my thoughts on a bunch of articles and interviews and breaking down the bullsh*t. There's a LOT of bullsh*t in the pet food industry.
As the film grows, so does the propaganda against fresh feeding. Think about that. There's an entire industry AGAINST fresh feeding and there are many vets that promote completely processed foods as healthy. A vet website even recently tried to bring doubt to everything presented in "Pet Fooled" (and they failed) and when I investigated this vet even further, she had ties and was hired by companies like Blue Buffalo and Life's Abundance. This is the world we live in. This veterinarian couldn't even hold an open discussion about fresh feeding because she was so defensive of processed foods. That doesn't make her evil but it is a case of system one and system two thinking if you've ever read the book "Thinking Fast And Slow" by Daniel Kahneman. If we lived in a different world where this major pet food industry was lead by what's build from the ground up as "correct" to feed the species, I wouldn't be here. But we're in the opposite world, and I'm here with "Pet Fooled" and other projects talking about the reality and the bullsh*t of it all.
