HILL'S PET NUTRITION Posts Misleading Video Concerning Fresh Nutrition, Receives Response From "PET FOOLED"
Hill's Pet Nutrition appears to be doing everything in their power to defend their unnecessary use of grains and carbohydrates for obligate carnivores. Their newest tactic? A VERY ODD video aimed at what appears to be the demonization of fresh pet foods for cats. Does Hill's Pet Nutrition only want all pet owners to feed highly processed foods cooked at high temperatures that they keep proprietary? Their excuses are starting to make less and less sense as time moves on, and this VERY ODD video doesn't really make sense either if you break it down.
Their goal appears to be clear. Scare consumers with illusive wording. It may work for some. But for a growing population of educated pet owners, their attempts to scare or potentially mislead aren't adding up anymore.

Should Consumers Band Together To Further Test Acana & Orijen Concerning Heavy Metal Claims? Would Consumers Do This? VOICES NEEDED NOW!
Before reading blow, be sure to read this article as well as the class action lawsuit associated.
For Consumers That Want To Know More About Acana or Orijen
Here's the question...
Is further consumer testing a possibility?
Is it something that Acana or Orijen customers want to band together and see through?
Further Testing Can be Done To Ensure Consumer Clarity On The Issue
Midwest Labs can conduct heavy metals testing for $150 per sample.
It will test Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead and Mercury.
Why Is This Important?
For complete consumer transparency, it is important for consumers to take this issue into their own hands and not trust either the company or Ellipse Analytics. If more testing can be conducted and analyzed concerning the products in question, more clarity and peace of mind can be given to the consumers that purchase these products.
Do Consumers Want This?
$150 per sample is what the test costs. This doesn't include the purchasing of the food or the shipping of the food. (The lab says "We will need approximately 50g of product and 5 business days to complete the testing.")
HOW TO DO THIS?
One quick thought is to compile a small crowd funding campaign to cover the food purchases, shipping, and testing. There are other ways to go about doing this. Champion Pet Foods could see to it that food costs are covered and 3rd party testing is covered, away from their handling.
This can all be public, transparent, and reported.
The goal here is to take the collection and testing out of both party's hands, away from the lawsuit and allegations, and into the hands of 3rd party testers and concerned consumers.
What thoughts do you have as a consumer? Please chime in.
Merrick Sends out PR Release, But Don't want to answer AnY Questions ON CAMERA FROM PET FOOLED
What do consumers think when a company who sends out a press release and then refuses to go on camera and answer simple questions for consumer transparency?
An Invitation To Visit "Merrick And CASTOR & POLLOCK
PR for Merrick, Castor & Pollock, and Zuke's sent this e-mail, inviting me to stop by their booth and learn about their new products.
I Would LOVE LOVE LOVE TO STOP BY!
I asked Shaina if I would be speaking to her about the products when I got to the booth. I let her know I made a film about pet food and I receive questions about pet food all the time. Consumers want to know how foods are made, how ingredients are sourced, and their true quality. When it comes to dry food, what is important to Merrick as well as affiliate brands?
Shaina confirmed I would be speaking with her.
KEEP IN MIND, P.R. ISN'T NECESSARILY ABOUT TRUTH. A LOT OF P.R. IS ABOUT SPIN AND AVOIDING THE DIRECT TRUTH
Needless to say, Shaina sent an e-mail backing out of the entire endeavor. She was VERY happy to speak with me and even confirmed times to take me to various booth.
Then...all of a sudden she wants to drop everything!
What's the TRUTH HERE?
Merrick refused to talk during the making of Pet Fooled. Many companies prefer for consumers to buy strictly off the marketing and packaging, NOT be the nutritional education of the consumer. The less consumers know, the better. They can make money from consumers who do not look deep enough into their ingredients, sourcing, and quality.
They don't want to talk on Camera
Consumers will not stop questioning. Each and every day, more and more consumers grow tired of companies attempting to fool them. Questions will keep being asked which will separate more transparent companies from less transparent companies.
HELP MAKE IT HAPPEN!
A special THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far! We are over HALF WAY there but we have more to go! Part 2 is kicking off because of consumer demand and consumer support.
If you have been impacted by Pet Fooled and the switching of your food, please consider chipping in and helping us get to our goal! (Donate on FB here!) https://www.facebook.com/donate/130094031125834/1953995771307943/
Sadly Films are EXPENSIVE TO MAKE!
There are all kinds of filmmaking. This isn't an action movie with a massive marketing budget, and it's not an "original" film by any studio. This film is being made for consumers and we are asking consumers to chip in if possible. EVERY BIT COUNTS!
What will funds be used for?
We are conducting a lot of VERY interesting interviews. Part 2 is already 10 times better than Part 1 and we've only begun. But we need YOUR help continuing to reach our small goal of raising $15,000.
Funds will be used for sound, travel costs, and a few necessary pieces of equipment. Part 1 was made by an incredible camera operator who basically donated his equipment. Part 2 we are left with nothing. So we have to start from scratch again.
BUT IT CAN BE DONE!
Please contribute if you have $5, $20, $50 of if you want to donate more, every bit HELPS!
Everyone will be receiving a thank you credit in our film's credits for donating.
